Hi, I'm Xande
(pronounced shon-day)
I'm a Designer with broad experience as a QA Engineer and Producer
Currently, I specialise in Narrative and Game Design

So, who am I?
Well...I'm Xande of course. Currently, I'm a QA Engineer with a specialisation in Narrative and General Game Design living in Liverpool and working for Lucid Games!
How did I get here? I'm glad you didn't ask!
When I started game design, I was a kid selling video games in a store. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be part of the industry and so my dream was set in stone. Here's me in my trusty uniform as green behind the ears as ever!

Deciding to explore the unknown and beginning to develop 2D games with help from YouTube and Udemy. Three years later, I became a qualified game designer, creating VR projects of football stadiums (Anfield, to be exact), indie 2D puzzle physics games in Unity and maze horror games in Unreal Engine.
I have delved into the world of 3D modelling, audio design, animation, coding but everything lies within my desire and drive for something with more of a creative subjectiveness in video games as well as film & television.
Everything mentioned before, of course, is necessary to developing video games but...
I want to design them!
And MORE than anything, I want to be part of the process that tells that story, whether it's gameplay centric or narratively

My GREATEST goal stood before me, the boss level of it all: Getting into the Games Industry as a Designer...
Little did I know just how saturated the industry could be. It didn't stop me from pursuing what I love. Over the last three years, I have been building my skills as a QA Engineer working for Universally Speaking and now Lucid Games.
BUT...
I had been pondering for a while... what did I REALLY want to specialise in? Especially with the industry so saturated and such a variety of areas for designers. Deep down in my heart, I already knew:
Narrative Design and Script Writing!
Learning under Adam Miller (Telltale, Bungie, Insomniac) through a Narrative Design course, I started diving down into the ins and outs of creating narrative for video games which also helped transcend and transfer to feature scripts created as a hobby for film.

I can't begin to describe how much I've learned. Through asking questions and being curious about the industry and learning from beginners to veterans alike, I've managed to make my start and I can't wait to keep growing further into the future!
Today the kid selling video games is starting to take shape into the kid producing video games.
(My hair length could also be indicative of my progress!)
